Tik Tok

This article is about the mobile app. For songs, see Tick-Tok for other uses, see Tick-Tok.
TikTok is an iOS and Android social media video app designed to create and share short lip sync, comedy and talent videos. The app was launched in 2017 outside of China by Byte Dennis. Byte Dennis previously launched Dwayne in September 2016 for the Chinese market (Chinese: 抖۔). Tuck and Dwayne use the same software, but maintain a separate network to comply with Chinese censorship restrictions. With this application, users are allowed to create short music and lip sync videos of 3 to 15 seconds and short looping videos. It is a very short video platform in Asia, the United States and other parts of the world. TalkTalk is not available in China and its servers are based in countries where the app is available.

In 2018, this application gained popularity and in October 2018 became the most downloaded app in the United States.  As of 2018, it is available in over 150 markets and 75 languages. In February 2019, TalkTalk, together with Dwayne, released a billion downloads globally, excluding Android installs in China.

Features

The TikTok mobile app allows users to create a short video of their own, often displaying music in the background, fast, slow or editable through filters. To create music videos through the app, users can select background music from a variety of music genres, edit with filters, and share it with others on Ticketac or other social platforms. Can record up to 15 seconds of video with speed adjustment before uploading. They can also create short lip sync videos for popular songs.

The "React" feature of the app allows users to film their own reaction to a specific video, placed on top of it in a small window that moves around the screen.  Its "dot" feature allows users to film one video from another. The "Dwight" feature was another trademark of the musical.

The app allows users to set their accounts as "Private". The contents of such accounts are visible on TalkTalk, but have been blocked from TickTalk users whose account holders have not had the option to view their content. [34] Users can choose whether another user, or just their "friends", can interact with them through the app via comments, messages, or "reaction" or "pair" videos. Regardless of whether the account is private or not, users can set specific videos to be "Public", "Only Friends", or "Private".

The "For You" page on Tik Tok is a feed of videos you recommend, based on your previous actions on the app, including how you like the content. Customers can only be featured on the "For You" page if they are 16 or over in each Talk Policy. Users under 16 will not show up under the "For you" page, under Sounds, or under a hashtag.

You can also add videos, hashtags, filters, and sounds to your "Saved" section. This section shows on your profile (only visible to you) allowing you to reference any video, hashtag, filter or sound you've previously saved.

Artificial intelligence

Tik Tok uses artificial intelligence to analyze users' interests and preferences through their interaction with content, and displays a feed of personalized content to each user.

  Trends

There are a variety of trends within the tick, including memes, lip-syncing songs, and humor. Deutsch, a feature that allows users to incorporate audio into their original video with audio of their original video, has caused most of these trends.

Trends are shown on the Tik Tok Exploration page, or on the Search logo on the page. This page lists the challenges between trading hashtags and the app. Some include #PositionChallenge, #FilterSwitch, #MecuriSecondContent, #SwanListen, #PivolChallenge, #Flower, #Hutterms, #ButtleCapchalge and more.
